The jacket is in great vintage condition, however there is a patch of wear towards the hem at the front. The embroidery means this isn’t that noticeable, but you may want to patch it. This jacket is long so it could be shortened if required. Otherwise the condition is excellent. This item is bought as seen.

Absolutely stunning and very rare 1940s Kashmiri Aari shirt. Aari embroidery is one of the oldest forms of embroidery in India. Traditionally it is done by hand with a pen-like needle that matches the shape of crochet hooks. This work is highly valued for its refined and delicate thread work. Creating a piece like this would have been extremely labour intensive which is why modern Aari embroidery is created on machines.

This incredible piece (called a shirt in Kashmir) would have originally been worn with matching culottes however, the quality and weight of the fabric means it could very easily be worn as a jacket.

A truly one off and stand out piece.
