    This item is in great vintage condition. There are a few moth holes on the inside lining of the garment but the outer layer is unaffected by this. Please note the cape has arm holes that have not been opened up, which suggests that it has never been worn. We have left the piece in its original condition, but it is a very simple task to open the pockets should you wish to.

This cape is part of an extraordinary collection from the Dudley Glanfield Estate. Dudley Glanfield, an esteemed Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, was a renowned portrait photographer whose subjects included members of royalty and the nobility. Following his passing in 1992, 400 acres of his estate were sold at public auction, and the contents were entrusted to various new owners.

Among these treasures, we discovered a remarkable collection of vintage capes, believed to have been used in numerous portrait sessions and as design samples. Each piece reflects the timeless craftsmanship that defined Glanfield’s work. Now, we are eager to see these unique items receive a new life, where they can be styled and appreciated for years to come. With their enduring quality and sophisticated design, these capes are ready to be cherished once more.
